One more wedding in Hydra island, Greece!
One more wedding in Hydra island, Greece that will forever stay in our hearts is the one we’re sharing today with you -not only for its fresh and unique color palette and its location, but most importantly for the exceptional couple we had the chance to bond with and work together closely throughout the preparations and, of course, their wedding day.
We have already introduced you to the island and its charm, but let us recapitulate. Hydra is a small yet picturesque island in Greece, a real gem that combines its abundant natural beauty with its cosmopolitan aura and enchants you from the moment you reach its quaint port. The logistics may be a little more complex there but if you trust an experienced wedding planner it is surely worth choosing it for a destination wedding in Greece.
Picture therefore that Hydra is the place where all the above meet –and even more. The island is not short of lavish hotels and restaurants and we love that, since we can offer high end service in hospitality with comfort, luxury and a slow pace of life. This magical blend of peacefulness, beauty and refinement is what makes Hydra a rare place and a world-renowned top wedding destination. Hydra is Tasos’ place of origin and his family’s favorite summer destination. The first time he travelled there with Felicia was enough to make the island the place of their heart and finally the location of their wedding.
Ever since we started discussing the mood boards and the wedding colors we knew we would have an exceptional result. Felicia is a visual artist, so she designed and curated all the visual art of the event which gave a unique character to the wedding stationery and was widely applied, from the wedding website, to the save the date and the welcome cards in the guests’ rooms. The color palette included white, blue, raf blue, warm yellow and terracotta that gave the earthy tone and authenticity that the couple sought.
For the guests’ convenience, everything was within walking distance from their hotels. The wedding weekend started off with a special welcome party with cocktails and finger food, where the couple welcomed all friends and relatives and gave them the chance to get acquainted. A cocktail party really elevates a destination wedding since it offers the opportunity to the guests to relax and creates the bonding that needs to be present at the wedding day.
The religious wedding ceremony took place at Hydra’s Cathedral, while the dinner and the party afterwards that lasted till the early hours was held at the magical Sunset Hydra reasturant. There the newlyweds received all their beloved family and friends for an unforgettable cocktail session, enjoying the sunset with an uninhibited view of the Aegean. The menu was based on the Mediterranean cuisine and included fine Greek wines. Everyone enjoyed a first-class dining experience with a breath-taking view of the endless blue.
For the floral arrangements we opted for aromatic plants such as rosemary, mint, camomille freesias and daisies in ceramic pots, while one more surprise awaited the guests as they were finding their places at the tables: a small-sized ceramic plate with their name written in calligraphy on their navy-blue linen napkin.
All was curated by Mazi Event team and fully harmonized with the surroundings, contributing to a high aesthetic image and a pleasant and cozy atmosphere.
It was a chic, timeless wedding with a cosmopolitan aura that will stay in our hearts and minds. We can only offer our most heartfelt wishes to Felicia and Tasos. May their whole life be a journey full of magical experiences!
xoxo,
