A luxury micro wedding in Greece, with a scent of Crete !
We bow before this wonderful couple, Kaitlin and Robert, who despite all odds and changes due to the pandemic, were finally able to fulfill their desire and travel from Canada to Greece after three consecutive postponements in order to realize their dream! To get married in Greece in an intimate wedding with charm, elegance and, of course, with a scent of Crete. No one even knew at the very beginning that they would finally have one more guest at the wedding, the sweetest and most precious one: their 5 months old son, Maverick. We are so glad to have been by their side all this time and have seen this marvelous couple develop and finally experience the wedding of their dreams.
A luxury micro wedding in Chania with love and emotions!
From the first moment we met Kait we clearly knew she would opt for soft hues, blush, nudes, ivories and gold. Olive green touches would also be included, since the private villa just outside Chania that would host their wedding, a great luxury wedding venue in the area, was situated in the middle of olive groves.
Kait’s preparations began in the Old Port of Chania. By her side was, naturally, her wonderful mother and her baby son, as she never parts with him. We arranged a first look photo shooting for the couple at the Old Port, a place they really adore. The iconic lighthouse, the city’s trademark, and the Yali Mosque, a real gem of the city, provided the ideal backdrop. With the help of our precious partners Les Anagnou (the photographers) we captured the couple relaxing and enjoying the whole experience in this cinematic setting. A highly recommended photo session especially when we plan a luxury micro wedding.
The wedding ceremony followed on the ground floor of the villa. We had designed a two-piece asymmetrical flower arch with an uninhibited view to the Cretan Sea. It was a really magical setting, since we were surrounded by Crete’s mountains and the color palette diversified due to the weather’s unpredictable changes. The ghost chairs helped us stay in contact with nature and highlighted the airy and clean style.
Kait and Robert exchanged vows and words of love and afterwards, with a glass of champagne, they expressed their gratefulness to their guests and wished them love and happiness.
The wedding reception and the party took place on the upper tier of the villa. We will never forget Kait’s enthusiasm when she saw the dinner area, the art de la table, the calligraphy and the monastery table decorated with candles, hand opened garden roses, traditional Cretan pastries and, of course, wedding favors and bonbons.
All details had been curated so that the guests would sense the feeling of caring and love. The wedding gifts were accordingly selected: rakomelo. A uniquely Cretan mix of raki (a traditional anise flavored alcoholic drink) and honey.
The wedding dinner that followed was an authentic culinary journey into the world of Cretan cuisine. A gourmet, high-end dinner experience. The wedding party afterwards involved lots of dancing and a cheerful atmosphere.
It was a night to remember. A night that had it all. Thrill, beauty, emotion and a whole lot of love.
The city of Chania is one of the most elegant and photogenic places on the island of Crete. It reflects multiple eras of culture and history and epitomizes the history of the Mediterranean. Medieval fortresses, Venetian style buildings, churches and mosques side by side and European mansions, all these create a unique setting, a place highly recommended for a destination wedding and a luxury event. Two people in love traversed half the globe to unite their lives and with our care and help, with our expertise and thoughtfulness as experienced luxury event designers, their expectations were surpassed. Traditional touches met style and luxury, in an event that will stay in our minds forever.
